To ensure participation of local
people in the protection and management of forest ‘Village forest committees
have been constituted in the village falling within 5 Km of the outer periphery
of forest. Till date 264 VFC & 103 FPC have been constituted in 377 villages
,More than 70% of the present forest area has been allotted to these committees
for the protection.
Badarkhol Wild life Sanctuary : It is an only
sanctuary of this district. And is spread in an area of 10445.43 hectars ie
104.45 Sq. Km .It is situated in Jashpur and Bagicha revenue tehsils. It starts
50 Km from Jashpur with a road path. Ib and Dundki river flows through this
sanctuary which a blessing for the wild life for drinking water facility in
summer.It was the hunting site of the jashpur king.
This is a thick forest with hilly area.Thick and high sale trees
are standing all over this forest. In addition saaja, haldu, harra , Aonla also
found here. And in the wild life , Tenduwa panthor, Bear ,Wild pig, Dear are
the main wild animals of this sanctuary.

purchased during 2009-2010 2274960 Qtl. with an amount of Rs.218896734.70/- and Bonus Rs. 11374823.50 and Toal Rs. 230271558.00
In
the current year distributed fertilizer details are - Supper phosphate : 276 ton,
Urea:1022 ton, DAP:868 Ton, NPK : 13 ton, Potash : 140 Ton and seed distribution
details are - Paddy : 3012 Qntl , Arhar :100 Qntl, Wheat : 745 Qntl.

DEPARTMENT PAHARI KORWA PROJECT
The district is the home for
Pahari Korwa and Birhor tribal communities . The residing area of pahari
korwas are spread in North-east and South –West of this district.The
residential area spread in North-South is about 150 Km and in East-West is about
85 Km
Popolation.: Census conducted by Chhattisgarh Govt. in 2002 for the
Korwa population the details found are as follows:

As
per the above financial status it shows that govt. is taking care for their
living standard. Govt. is providing now safe drinking water facility. School
building and Ashram buildings are being constructed for the education of Korwa
children. Health service centers are being opened and health workers are being
deputed to their villages. Many Korwa families who are living in a group in a
village are understanding these govt.’s activities and taking its advantage.
